Final Post

Hey guys!

Thank you for looking through my website, I hope you found it helpful! I am writing this last blog post to give my thoughts on the process of creating this website, and the projects I was involved with along the way.

Before taking this Strategic Presentations class, I had never created a website, and I never knew how simple it could be. Creating a WordPress blog was much simpler than I thought it could be, although it did take some time for me to figure out how to navigate the site. Although creating the site was simple, I would not say it was necessarily easy. There is a lot of thought that needs to go into creating a website, such as how you want the layout and what color scheme you want. Figuring this out takes a lot of time, but WordPress made the process as simple as they possibly could. Overall, I really enjoyed creating the site, and I think writing about a topic I am passionate about (lifting) really helped in making the process enjoyable. If you have been thinking about creating a blog about a topic you are passionate about, I would definitely recommend that you go for it. Do not let fear stop you from doing what you want.

In addition to creating this website, I had to work on a final group paper with five other students in my class. Group work is never an easy task, and the fact that we had to write a paper made this even more difficult. It was not an easy process, but we were able to make it work out in the end. Taking this course really helped me learn how to work better with others, and although it was a frustrating process at times, I think I am better off now because of this.

In addition to writing a group paper, I had to create my own podcast. Realizing that I had to talk for seven minutes straight was a terrifying task for me, so I really was not looking forward to creating one. I had to remind myself multiple times that I would be talking about a topic that I was passionate about, and that I had a purpose of helping others when creating this podcast.

In conclusion, I think I learned a lot by taking this course. This class definitely did not come easy, and there were many times where I felt like just giving up. Coming out of this class, I definitely know more about information technology and the uses for it, so I would say that this class was useful to take!
